BOLOGNA’S REMO FREULER ON ROMA RADAR AS GASPERINI REACHES OUT
Roma boss Gian Piero Gasperini is eyeing a reunion with Bologna midfielder Remo Freuler. The Swiss international's contract situation has sparked interest, putting pressure on Bologna to renew.

As Bologna attempts to negotiate a contract extension for the seasoned midfield player, Remo Freuler's future is once again in the public eye.
There have already been preliminary talks in recent weeks over the 33-year-old, who is committed to the Rossoblù until June 2026.
Progress has been sluggish, though, and another team might now be thinking about approaching.
At Roma, Gasperini wants to see Freuler again.
Il Resto del Carlino, as reported by TuttoMercatoWeb, claims that Roma manager Gian Piero Gasperini has called Freuler in an exploratory manner to find out if the player is amenable to a future transfer to the capital.
With 254 appearances under Gasperini throughout their lengthy tenure at Atalanta—the most he has ever played for any coach in his career—the two are well familiar with one another.
Although no specific actions have been taken as of yet, Roma's interest may put further pressure on Bologna to move quickly to start renewal negotiations and keep the matter from dragging on.
NAPOLI TAKE THREE-POINT LEAD AFTER CLOSE WIN AGAINST LECCE

The thrilling 3-1 victory against Inter put the Partenopei back atop the league, but it came at a price: Kevin De Bruyne will miss several months of action due to a significant thigh strain. Rasmus Hojlund and Amir Rrahmani returned to the bench, but Stanislav Lobotka, Alex Meret, and Romelu Lukaku remained on the treatment table. Leonardo Spinazzola and Scott McTominay were rested, and the 4-3-3 formation was reinstated. Following the 3-2 loss to Udinese, Lecce was without Gaby Jean, Filip Marchwinski, Matias Perez, and Riccardo Sottil.
Billy Gilmour's attempt was deflected wide as Napoli wore their special edition Halloween uniform, but Lorenzo Lucca unintentionally charged down a Matteo Politano strike that was on target.
On the Matias Olivera pull-back, Politano turned over from six yards out, while Medon Berisha also threatened by drilling wide from the area's edge.

After a VAR review, the Lecce penalty was given because Kialonda Gaspar's header on a corner seemed to hit Juan Jesus' hand, which bent back on impact. Vanja Milinkovic-Savic, who has saved five of the past nine Serie A penalties faced, demonstrated his expertise by parrying the spot-kick when Camarda stepped up.
Hojlund made his comeback from injury, with McTominay and Leonardo Spinazzola reinforcing the team off the bench for the final half-hour.
It paid off, as a free kick from David Neres was glanced into the far top corner off the head of Anguissa from six yards out, giving Napoli the lead.
Nikola Stulic was too slow to capitalise on a Danilo Veiga pull-back, Elmas shot wide, and Hojlund missed the Neres assist in stoppages.

Last summer, Joan Garcia decided to quit Espanyol in favour of a move to Catalan rivals FC Barcelona, which sparked a great deal of animosity and hatred from the team's supporters.
On social media, Garcia was instantly inundated with hate speech, and Espanyol supporters did everything in their power to express their disapproval of the transfer.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the controversy surrounding Garcia reappeared this week after La Liga formally notified that the rookie goalkeeper had been the target of insulting shouts during Espanyol's most recent match against Elche.

The complaint submitted by La Liga's match directors claims that some Espanyol fans yelled obscenities at Garcia, calling for "Joan's head."
According to the report, the chanting originated from the "Gol Cornella" section and the incident occurred in the 35th minute of the game at the RCDE Stadium.
This was especially noticeable in sectors 109, 110, and 111, which are where Espanyol's ultras club "Grada Canito" resides.
For almost 20 seconds, the song, "Queremos la cabeza de Joan" (We want Joan's head), was sung in unison.
Another incident of animosity was also noted in the report, this time from Elche supporters who screamed "Puta Barça" (F*** Barça) as a group for about 15 seconds.
Both events have been sent by La Liga to the Anti-Violence Commission and the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) for examination. At this point, the disciplinary committee will determine whether to launch a formal investigation.
Reminders to adhere to anti-violence rules that forbid and punish violent, homophobic, or xenophobic behaviour at sporting events were shown on the stadium's video screens during the game.
Garcia, meanwhile, is presently out due to an injury, but according to recent sources, the goalie may be able to play this weekend against Elche.
